Has the following ever happened to you? You are in a room full of people. Every one is talking and it is a big jumble. Then someone, somewhere in the room, says something of interest to you—like the name of the movie you saw last night, or the town you grew up in – or better yet, YOUR name– and all of a sudden, that person’s voice becomes more clear, more prominent. It is as though your ear is a camera with a zoom lens, and you have just zoomed in and focused.

Fixed the player settings to better live on a black background blog.
A second upload test so I can retry cross-posting to my blog. The custom player settings should be adjusted for a smaller size (perhaps 400 wide) and also to hide the playback controls a bit more.

Occasionally I have to work with Macintosh computers.
Here are some Mac / OS X tricks worth knowing in a pinch:
- Access the Boot Menu: hold the <OPT> or <ALT> key down when powering up the Mac to access the boot menu
- Disable the keyboard manager (for kiosk type applications or when using an iPac keyboard emulator
- Eject a CD from a Mac Mini: using a two-button mouse, hold both left and right buttons as the Mini boots.
- Start a program automatically on Mac OS startup

I move my body, a well practices gesture, to indicate to an arriving bus that I don’t need it to stop. I look away and turn my whole body. A similar performance occurs when I want to make the bus stop.
